Visual Arts 1
“The true work of art is but a shadow of the divine perfection” (Rumi). God is the original and best artist of all time… we are all just humble reflectors of His glory. What an incredible opportunity we have in imitating our Creator through art… and have lots of fun doing it! The visual arts contribute significantly to the intellectual, aesthetic, emotional, social, and physical development of the individual. As students engage in the visual arts, they devise and solve problems and apply these problem-solving processes to concrete experiences. Through the creative process, students are able to communicate, giving form and meaning to their ideas and emotions. The visual arts stimulate students’ imaginations, innovation, and creativity. As students are introduced to language and application of the visual arts through the Elements and Principles of Design they will also develop self-discipline, self-motivation, and self-confidence. Art is the voice of the soul… plan to take a creative risk!
